Grading — Week 1
The first week of Summer Sevens will be a grading round. This means that your team may not necessarily play against others in the same age group after grading. Our goal is to place teams into divisions that are as even as possible.
What we promote above all else is fun. We want every team to enjoy the competition.
- —As a parent, help keep time — this will allow you to rotate your players evenly.
- —Encourage effort, not just results: praise players for working hard, supporting teammates, and showing good sportsmanship.
- —Remember, it's not the World Cup! Summer Sevens is about enjoying football in the off-season. Keep it fun, relaxed, and social for both players and parents.
What People Say
“Summer Sevens run by North East Football was fantastic for our under 16s. It kept the boys active over the summer and provided an opportunity to harness their skills for the winter competition. It was also a great approach for our U12 girls to keep fit before they moved to U14s. The competition was well organised and it was a great experience for everyone involved.”
Brad Howard, Coach
“As both a parent and coach the atmosphere is extremely positive and provides an opportunity for players to experience fast paced, high touch, skilled football matches. Summer 7's not only focuses on the players but also provides opportunity for the development of junior referees and coaches, ensuring football is accessible to all community members.”

“If you're a fan of football then I strongly suggest you get behind this event, put in a team, watch the new friendships develop alongside your child's football skills. Congratulations Dan and Christianna for all your hard work and we will continue to support you as this event continues to go from strength to strength.”
